Standing on the Edge by Alison Hayes

From the series Island White Island Sound
Drawing the viewer into its hypnotic trance-like beauty Island White Island Sound is a journey through sound, motion and the treasures of an island tucked away behind rocks, under dark skies and curtains of mist. We - the clumsy explorers - paddle in, and those who stop and wait to experience the passing of time are treated to the moments when nature directs its own theatre - a production of chorusing gulls, crashing seas and the magical chaos of ghost-birds that fall out of the night sky. We balance on the edge of a visual world before tipping into a chasm of sound. We don’t quite know if we are flying or falling. Artworks captured on Skomer and Grassholm islands.
You are also invited to come along to a special screening of Alison Hayes video/sound works on Sunday 30 November between 2.00pm and 5.00pm ....
