Small Blue Loveable Creatures are Heading for the Torch!
Known for their white hats and blue bodies, the Smurfs, who live in mushroom-shaped houses in a forest are back to entertain us and who can’t love these adorable characters? From The Smurfs in 2011, The Smurfs 2 in 2013 and Smurfs: The Lost Village four years later, fans will be delighted to welcome the new film.
When Papa Smurf (John Goodman) is mysteriously taken by evil wizards, Razamel and Gargamel, Smurfette (Rihanna) leads the Smurfs on a mission into the real world to save him. With the help of new friends, the Smurfs must discover what defines their destiny to save the universe.
“Everyone loves the Smurfs, first invented in 1958. They were first created as a series of comic characters by the Belgian artist Peyo and by now there are more than 100 Smurf characters. Their names are based on adjectives that emphasise their characteristics and ‘Smurfette’ was the first female Smurf to be introduced in the series,” said Anwen Francis from the Torch Theatre’s marketing team.
