The cast has been confirmed for the Torch Theatre’s autumn production,The Hound of the Baskervilles in a madcap adaptation by Steven Canny and John Nicholson that’s suitable for the whole family.

The show sees two of the Torch Theatre’s favourite actors returning to its stage. Dr Watson is played by Pembrokeshire’s own Jessica Dyas who played wicked Mother Gothel in the 2025 Torch pantomime Rapunzel, she will be joined by Torch Associate Artist Gareth John Bale, who many will remember for his award-winning performances as Raymond Gravell in the one-man show Grav. Bale will be put through his paces as Sherlock Holmes, both Mr and Mrs Stapleton, Slasher Seldon and a whole host of iconic characters.

Sir Henry Baskerville will be played by Rick Yale, a new face at the Torch Theatre. The raw and instinctive actor has extensive experience on screen and stage, recently he played the lead role in the BAFTA nominated short-film Involuntary Activist and has worked with Torch Artistic Director Chelsey Gillard on previous projects including Rebecca Jade Hammond’s celebrated play, ‘Right Where We Left Us’.

As chaos, clues, and canine capers collide in this riotously funny, fast-paced version of the classic tale, the moors will never be the same as award winning director, Chelsey Gillard from the Torch Theatre explains: 

“I am so excited to get into the rehearsal room with this talented trio. Although Gareth has performed many times on the Torch Theatre stage, I’ve never had the privilege of working with his as a director before. All three actors are full of mischief and are at the top of their game. We will be working together to create something that delights Holmes aficionados and newbies alike in a theatrical treat.”
