TORCH THEATRE

COMMUNITY

Torch Theatre holds prime position overlooking the harbour at the heart of the former fishing town of Milford Haven, Pembrokeshire. We are one of only three building-based producing theatres in Wales. This means that any Torch Theatre productions you see (such as our spectacular annual pantomime) are made here, in our building, from scratch. Everything from writing the scripts, to building the set, and making the costumes happens right here on your doorstep – and you can be involved in that!

We are incredibly proud to be part of our community and the Torch’s logo is not only a nod to the oil and gas industry surrounding our town, but also celebrates the strong industrial history of Milford Haven and the surrounding region.

Our diverse activity offers a range of opportunities to be involved in the arts, not just as an audience member in one of our two auditoria but also through the following programs:

Our acclaimed Torch Youth Theatre,

Torch Voices (our in-house community choir),

Creative Writing Workshops

My Moves (a disability movement group in association with Pembrokeshire People First),

Movies & Memories (Dementia Friendly Film screenings)

Cradle Choir (Welsh National Opera's Dementia Choir),

Front of House Volunteers.

Our activity is not limited to these events we also offer workshops, backstage tours, and work placements. We are keen to work with local groups to help you make the most of having one of Wales most prominent producing houses right on your doorstep.

We believe that everyone can find a space here at the Torch, and we know that we may not yet provide that for you. We are always looking to expand our knowledge and understanding of everything that is happening in our town, our county and across West Wales, and how best we can support all artistic adventures.
