TORCH THEATRE TO CLOSE TO THE PUBLIC BETWEEN DECEMBER 27 2021 TO JANUARY 1 2022
It is with a heavy heart that we will close our doors to the public from Monday, December 27 to Saturday, January 1 2022.
Since the announcement by the Welsh Government on Wednesday to introduce new guidelines for social distancing from Sunday 26 December and the resulting decision to cancel the last week of our pantomime, Cinderella, our team needs time to implement the new guidelines and we also need to relieve the increasing pressure that our team is currently under in order to contact all affected bookers over the course of next week.
The festive period is historically one of our busiest times of the year and we know how much you look forward to including a visit to the Torch as part of your Christmas holiday plans. The decision to close next week has not been made lightly and is in the best interests of our staff and their well-being. We plan to be ready to welcome you again with full social distancing measures in place from Sunday 2 January and we will be back up to speed as normal.
All ticket holders for cinema screenings next week will be contacted from today by show date order. Again, we ask kindly that you do not call us, our team will call you when they are ready to contact you. Our Box office team will go through your options: full refunds can be issued where required, we will ask you to consider transferring your tickets to another cinema screening from Sunday 2 January, putting your balance on a Torch Top-Up card for later use, or, if you are in a position to, please consider donating the value of your tickets to support the Torch. Your generosity and support is very much appreciated.
From Sunday 2 January 2022, all films and live broadcasts will be socially distanced in both auditoriums. As a special thank you for your support through this difficult time, all tickets for the cinema will be at £6 a ticket up to Sunday 16 January. We are in constant talks with Pembrokeshire County Council and following advice from our industry bodies, we will review the situation up to this date and implement new measures depending on the official guidelines at the time.
We would like to thank you for your continued support, understanding, and loyalty to the Torch Theatre. From all of our staff and volunteers, we would like to wish you a Merry but Safe Christmas and we look forward to seeing you again in 2022.
