If you've ever visited the Torch Theatre and left with popcorn in one hand and a glass of wine in the other, chances are we've crossed paths!

My name is Jenny and I'm part of the front of house team at the Torch Theatre. I've recently graduated from Cardiff University with a degree in English Literature, Journalism and Media, and throughout my studies I was lucky enough to be welcomed back to the Torch Theatre during every university holiday.

More recently, I've had the opportunity to volunteer with the Torch's marketing team, helping to share the Theatre's work with Pembrokeshire audiences and beyond. It's been so exciting to see how much creativity goes into promoting the shows, films, and events that make the Torch such a vibrant cultural hub (one that we are extremely lucky to have here in Pembrokeshire). One of my favourite projects was working with Emma from the Torch Marketing team and Pembrokeshire College to deliver an exciting hair braiding competition in the run-up to our Rapunzel pantomime. You may have even caught this on your Instagram or Facebook feed not so long ago!

During my time at university, I worked for the student magazine- an experience that became one of the highlights of my degree. I was fortunate enough to interview a number of incredible bands one-on-one, including The Wombats, Wheatus and DMA's. Those opportunities helped cement my love for creative work and storytelling and confirmed that working in creative environments is something I really enjoy.

Being able to bring these skills back to the Torch Theatre, a place that has supported me throughout my studies, feels very special. These skills have allowed me to contribute to press releases and interview some amazing creatives who work behind the scenes on productions our audiences love. It's always rewarding to help shine a light on the people and stories that make each production possible. More importantly, it highlights that no matter the size of the theatre or how far West we are, the creativity, talent and ambition of the performers and creatives here, is anything but small!
