Begin Your Creative Journey at the Torch Theatre
Have you ever wanted to be a script writer? Well now’s your chance to try your hand at creative writing for the stage at your local theatre with Creative Writing Workshops for Adults! The Torch Theatre in Milford Haven, under the watchful eye of an expert team, will lead fun-filled, fortnightly sessions that focus on exploring and developing creative writing skills.
Open to everyone over 18, the Creative Writing sessions form part of the Torch Theatre’s diverse range of activities which offer everyone the opportunity to be involved in the arts. You do not need to have any prior experience, just a head full of ideas and willingness to share them.
“We will help get your ideas out of your head and on to the page, give your characters voices, and support you in sharing your work with others. To get the most out of your experience, we aim to create a nurturing and creative space so we can turn you into a writer for the stage,” explained Tim Howe, Torch Theatre’s Senior Manager for Youth and Community.
Tim continued “Each term we explore new ways of writing, trying our new approaches and styles. We’re currently working on verbatim theatre which sees us take people’s real words and translate them into a script for performance. At the end of each term, we hold an informal sharing of the work which you can invite family and friends along to.”
Joining is easy. The sessions take place on a Thursday between 6.30pm and 8.30pm at the Torch Theatre, starting on Thursday 15 and 29 January, 12 February and 5 and 19 March. Each session costs £10.00 or £50 for the whole term.
