This comedy is everything you could ask for. Like chips!

Freya, our junior reviewer loved watching the Bangers and Chips Explosion! Read her review below to find out more ...

Salad has gotten exceptionally boring in St Gertrude's primary school. All of the kids have decided to go on strike. They WANT chips! When the head teacher is overwhelmed with the children's protests, the school secretary takes action. She asks the snobbery school lunch lady to tweak the menu. Sadly, and not surprisingly, she refuses. The head teacher is distraught. She decides that she will find new lunch chefs. People with imagination and are ready for a wild adventure in the kitchen. Although, the proofreader was off that day in the newspaper factory. Instead of asking for cooks, the papers stumble upon a different audience. Two crooks. Expecting a job full of sneaking around and adventurous missions they are sent to the school kitchens. Although they are inexperienced, they get the job done. The children are extremely happy with their chips. Although, the “cooks” can’t keep their hands off a wealthy opportunity. Every morning, the children bring money in for whatever reason. This catches their eyes. They want the money. They need it. They yearn for it. They devise a plan. They want to know where all this money goes. They decide to kidnap the headmaster and demand a ransom. This is only the start of all of their troubles.

This comedy is everything you could ask for. Like chips. All the jokes made everyone in the theatre laugh. The story has unexpected twists and turns and keeps you hooked every second. Theres never a boring moment watching this all unfold. The entire thing is totally unpredictable and you're always waiting for what will happen next. The entire thing is ridiculous and to think that everything happened because kids wanted some chips. I am amazed that all these children put on a show like this. It was absolutely hilarious and how they portrayed the characters was amazing. I enjoyed every second of this show.

The characters were so stupidly funny, I couldn’t stop laughing. I have to say this but Detective, you looked great in that dress, horrible disguise or what! I loved how the secretary was the one who saved the day and went from boring to brilliant throughout the show and how she was unstoppable through everything she went through. St Gertrude's primary is lucky to have her! I loved the creativity of how they brought the characters to life, and I personally loved all the names of the crooks.

Throughout this whole show I was hooked and enjoying every second of it. They couldn’t have done any better and the youth theatre should be proud of what they achieved. I recommend this to all ages. It's safe to say though that at the end of this, I'll never think of chips the same. I hope you all enjoyed this as much as I did!
