Prrrudy, Torch Theatre’s County Show Dame, not only made her mark at the two-day Pembrokeshire County Show, she also entertained the thousands in the main ring as she joined the Kangaroo Kid in his daredevil escapades. Located near the cattle ring, the Torch Theatre stall was in an ideal location to capture the imagination of all – children and adults alike.

During the two days, bright pink boots, owned by Puss in Boots herself, were hidden around the show field, and it wasn’t long before three local teenagers – Enfys, Catrin and Betsi found them on the Tuesday at the Fenton Vets stall and returned them safely to win a family ticket to the festive pantomime – Puss in Boots. The boots were also hidden on Wednesday, and within half an hour, Luke from Clarbeston Road had found them on the Visit Pembrokeshire stall. Well done to all!

“The Puss in Boots competition was just great fun and we were delighted that so many people went on a Boot Chase around the show. We are grateful to all for their efforts and to the stall holders for hiding the boots on our behalf. The Kangaroo Kid also promoted our competition and our Prrrudy can’t wait to get on the quad bike at next year’s county show. She had a ball!” said Anwen Francis from the Torch Theatre Marketing Team.

And Chesley Gillard, Torch Theatre’s Artistic Director agreed that the Pembrokeshire County Show was a memorable one.

“Getting out and about at our local County Show was just terrific. We met so many lovely people and we enjoyed chatting about our upcoming autumn family show The Hound of the Baskervilles and Puss in Boots, our festive pantomime this year. We’ll definitely be back at Pembrokeshire County Show next year to entertain the crowds.”

Puss in Boots can be seen at the Torch Theatre from Saturday 5 December to Saturday 2 January. Relaxed Environment Performance: 19 December at 2pm. BSL Interpreted Performance: Tuesday 22 December at 6pm.
