Mother and Daughter Get Rave Reviews in Mrs Warren’s Profession

Described as ‘An extraordinary tour de force that brings the play to vivid and compelling life’ by WhatsOnStage, NT Live: Mrs. Warren's Profession by Bernard Shaw is a must see at the Torch Theatre this November. Five-time Olivier Award winner Imelda Staunton (The Crown) joins forces with her real-life daughter Bessie Carter (Bridgerton) for the very first time, playing mother and daughter in this incendiary moral classic.

Directed by Dominic Cooke, Vivie Warren is a woman ahead of her time. Her mother, however, is a product of that old patriarchal order. Exploiting it has earned Mrs. Warren a fortune – but at what cost? Filmed live from the West End, this new production reunites Staunton with director Dominic Cooke (Follies, Good), exploring the clash between morality and independence, traditions and progress.

Imelda, the English actress and singer well known for her West End appearances, has received several awards including a British Academy Film Award and five Laurence Olivier Awards as well as nominations for an Academy Award, three British Academy Television Awards, three Golden Globe Awards and three Emmy Awards.

Showing from Sunday 2 November at 7pm, tickets are £15.00 | £13.00 Cons | £8.50 Under 26. Book tickets via the website torchtheatre.co.uk / Box Office: 01646 695267 or click here.
