Royal Opera: Rusalka Broadcast at the Torch

Rusalka, broadcast by the Royal Opera, is a must for opera lovers across the globe! When the water spirit, who lives with her family in the pure waters of the forest lake falls in love with a Prince, she sacrifices her voice and leaves her home in the hope of finding true love in a new world. However, that world does not love Rusalka back.

The recorded broadcast at the Torch Theatre, Milford Haven on Sunday 28 January will see Natalie Abrahami and Ann Yee creating a poetic, contemporary new staging of Dvořák’s lyric fairy tale. They will reveal our uneasy relationship with the natural world and humanity’s attempts to own and tame it. Semyon Bychkov conducts an all-star cast featuring Asmik Grigorian (Jenůfa) in the title role.

With music by Antonin Dvorák, the opera will be sung in Czech with English subtitles.

Rusalka will be broadcast live at the Torch Theatre on Sunday 28 January at 2pm. Ticket prices standard: £20, Concessions £18, Under 26: £9. For tickets phone the Box Office on 01646 695267 or click here.
