Let the Cat out of the Bag with the Torch Theatre

It might seem like the festive season is ages away, but tickets for the Torch Theatre’s school pantomime performances are already selling fast! The theatre’s 2026 panto promises hiss-terical humour and more local references than you can shake your tail at. With a whisker of Western adventure, audiences will be delighted by Puss In Boots.

For a limited time, pantomime tickets are available at a special early bird price and schools (as well as the general public) are encouraged to buy their tickets sooner rather than later to guarantee the best seats in the house at the best prices.

Last year’s Rapunzel was attended by over 3000 school children from across Pembrokeshire and six schools were successful in securing financial help to attend from the Arts Council of Wales ‘Go and See Fund’. The school performances for 2026 are filling up fast, with over 2000 tickets already booked and some shows are already sold out, so the theatre is urging schools to get in touch to secure their dates now.

"We know that pantomime is often the first spark of theatrical magic and an introduction to live theatre for a young person. Our commitment to these pupils continues beyond the curtain call, as every school receives a dedicated resource pack to bring the themes of the pantomime to life in the classroom. The best thing about booking now is that you secure the tickets at this year’s price and schools pay nothing until December this year!" said Tim Howe, Senior Manager for Youth and Community.

He continued, "Regardless of where they live, young people need the arts. We’re incredibly proud to support our community’s wellbeing through live performance. Multiple studies suggest that the social connection found at the theatre leads to fewer GP visits and hospital stays. Our panto isn’t just a show; it’s a way to build a healthier Pembrokeshire. And they do say laughter is the best medicine!"

The Torch cannot wait to welcome audiences this December. Can Puss help our heroes find fame and fur-tune? In Wild West Wales anything is possible! Pull on your cowboy boots and join us for this meow-sical extravaganza to find out. It’s most certainly going to be the cat’s pyjamas. Relaxed Environment Performance on Saturday 19 December at 2pm. BSL Interpreted Performance on Tuesday 22 December at 6pm. Visit the Torch Theatre website on www.torchtheatre.co.uk / or phone the Box Office (01646) 695267 or click here.
