A Walk Down Memory Lane!

This year’s live-action adaptation of The Magic Faraway Tree (U) is a highly anticipated, exciting adventure for all the family based on Enid Blyton’s 1943 classic novel and can be seen on the Torch Theatre screen during March and April. Featuring a superb cast of Andrew Garfield and Claire Foy, this wonderful family film is expected to draw the crowds!

The Magic Faraway Tree follows Polly and Tim and their three children - a modern family forced to relocate to the remote English countryside. As they adapt to their new lives, the children discover a magical tree and its extraordinary and eccentric residents including treasured characters Moonface (Nonso Anozie), Silky (Nicola Coughlan), Dame Washalot (Jessica Gunning) and Saucepan Man (Dustin Demri-Burns).

Written by Simon Farnaby (Paddington 2), The Magic Faraway Tree is a heartwarming, visually spectacular, and nostalgic hit for families. And it’s not only the terrific cast and script that will pull the crowds, the set is also fabulous, as Emma John from The Guardian explains in her article.

“The craftsmanship that has gone into the production – from the individually handmade mushrooms that populate the enchanted wood, to a full-size replica of a Lisbon tram – is evident everywhere, not least in the tumbledown barn that feels so livable you hope they’ll rent it out on Airbnb.”

At the top of the tree, the cast is transported to spectacular and fantastical lands and, through the joys and challenges of their adventures, the family learn to reconnect and value each other for the first time in years.

The Magic Faraway Tree (U) can be seen on the Torch Theatre screen from Friday 27 March until Sunday 12 April. Price: £7.50 | £7.00 Cons | £6.00 Under 16 | £24.00 Family. For further information visit the Torch Theatre website www.torchtheatre.co.uk / phone the Box Office on (01646) 695267 or click here.
