Torch Theatre Thanks Its Volunteers During UK-Wide Celebration
From our wonderful ushers to our front of house staff, the Torch Theatre would like to thank all of our volunteers this week as it celebrates the UK wide-campaign – National Volunteers’ Week. The celebration held during the first Monday in June celebrates and recognise the contributions of volunteers everywhere.
Launched in 1984, this initiative has been running for over 40 years. It provides organisations and communities a platform to thank current and past volunteers for their invaluable efforts.
Lana Bullimore is a volunteer at the Torch Theatre and enjoys spending her time chatting to our Torch Theatre supporters.
She said: “Supporting an essential part of the community is a privilege. Being part of a group of friendly volunteers alongside the professional team has given me pleasure, laughter and friendship.”
The campaign highlights the diversity and unity of volunteer work across the UK. In its 40th year, the campaign underwent a rebrand, introducing a vibrant identity to inspire continued engagement. The Volunteers’ Week fosters connections between national organisations and grassroots groups, celebrating the spirit of volunteering that enriches communities each year.
Chesley Gillard is the Torch Theatre’s Artistic Director. She said:
“The generous people who volunteer at the Torch make everything we do possible. Our volunteers are the reason we can always guarantee a warm welcome at the Torch. We are so grateful for the time and energy so many people give to ensure the Torch can keep entertaining, educating and inspiring. Diolch yn fawr iawn!,”
