STARS OF THE WEST END, HELEN SHIELDS AND EMMA DEARS, HEAD TO PEMBROKESHIRE
Judy Garland and Liza Minnelli are back together again thanks to a sensational musical experience, Judy and Liza.
They will visit the Torch Theatre with their dazzling production that tells the turbulent tale of Hollywood’s biggest stars against the backdrop of their infamous 1964 London Palladium concert.
On Friday 14 April the West End stars Emma Dears and Helen Sheals belt out their most famous hits with uncanny resemblance, bursting with elusive star quality. Featuring live performances of Cabaret, Maybe This Time, The Trolley Song and The Man That Got Away to name but a few, the audience will be taken on an emotional rollercoaster journey.
Both actors have terrific resumes and Helen Sheals who plays Judy is no stranger to her role, having played Judy Garland in the musical “Judy!” at The Arts Theatre in London’s West End. She has also worked extensively in theatre and television including roles in Silent Witness and Casualty.
Liverpool born Emma Dears plays Liza. Early in her career she headed to London to join the Italia Conti Academy for Performing Arts. She was offered a part in the Tour of “Les Miserables” performing in Dublin and Edinburgh and went on to enjoy a long spell in London’s West End playing “Ellen” in Miss Saigon at the Theatre Royal, Drury Lane. Shemost recently played the role of Heather in Emmerdale.
Described as “spellbinding performances” by What’sOnStage.com we soon discover the uncanny parallels between some of Judy and Liza's most iconic songs and their own personal lives. Spend an evening with the mother and daughter who really did put the ‘show’ into showbiz.
Judy and Liza will be on stage at the Torch Theatre on Friday 14 April 2023 at 7.30pm. Standard tickets are £25 and can be booked from the Torch Box Office on 01646 695267 or online here
