Well ... where to start and what to say that will even begin to do justice to this wonderful production of The 39 Steps!!

I can only urge all who can to go along and watch a performance if there's the opportunity!

I attended on opening night and was looking forward very much to watching this live stage performance of the much-loved "The 39 Steps" story. My expectations were exceeded in every way! 

I found myself totally gripped throughout the pacey and thrilling events unfolding on the stage. There were moments veering between sharp intakes of breath, with hands flying up to cover face... and laugh out loud amusement and comic touches!

The versatility of the cast is tremendous... and works a treat as they each adopt numerous different guises!

Each cast member is a joy to watch, with admirable timing and effective coordination achieved at such fast pace throughout. Some real talent in evidence, without doubt!

The details and set pieces built into the scenes are nothing short of joyous to watch! So too are the dramatic surprises and clever use of story and plot to ensure that the audience is well and truly included!  

The stage sets, props, scenery and costumes are well worth a shout-out!! The era in which "The 39 Steps" is set is beautifully captured and the costumes are very evocative of the locations and the period... as are the stage sets for each scene and the props selected.

It only remains for me to say how much I'm looking forward to my second outing to watch "The 39 Steps" again at the weekend!!
