Torch Clothes Swaps – 23^rd April and 20^th May

Looking to change up your wardrobe for summer? Want to be freed of some pre-loved clothing in a sustainable way? Or perhaps you feel that your clothes just aren’t you anymore?

Join us at the Torch on 23^rd April and 20^th May for two clothes swap events relating to some amazing and provocative independent films coming up this season.

The first event takes place at 2 – 3.30pm on Sunday 23^rd April. Relating to the film Fashion Reimagined (screening at 4pm).

Fashion Reimagined is a documentary which follows Amy Powney, a daughter of environmental activists, during her trajectory from outsider to industry leader as she sets out to create a fashion collection that’s ethical and sustainable at every level.

The second event takes place at 5.30 – 7.00pm on Saturday 20^th May. Relating to the film Joyland (screening at 7.30pm).

Joyland follows the youngest son in a traditional Pakistani family as he takes a job as a backup dancer in a Bollywood-style burlesque, and quickly becomes infatuated with the strong-willed trans woman who runs the show.

What is a clothes swap?

A clothes swap gives you the opportunity to swap your pre-loved clothing for other people’s pre-loved clothing, as long as you bring something along you can swap it for something else.

Is there a limit to how much I can swap?

You can swap as many items as you like, as long as you bring at least one item you can take as many as you like.

Is there anything you don’t swap?

We do not swap underwear or swimming costumes. We do not swap broken or damaged beyond repair items.

What happens to any leftover clothes?

We will donate any leftover clothes to local charities.

You can bring items along on the day or you can donate items in advance. Donations can be made in the Torch Theatre foyer. Please ensure that your donations are clean and well-loved rather than damaged.
