County Councillor for one of the wards in the Milford Haven area since 2004, and also a member of Milford Haven Town Council since 1999, Rhys has a wide range of experience in community and third sector work with his involvement in a range of local organisations.

Rhys is a trustee of Pembrokeshire Care Society and Vice Chair of Milford Haven School Governing Body. He works as a Principal Public Health Specialist for Public Health Wales, responsible for a wide range of programme management and delivery in areas such as mental wellbeing, substance misuse and older adult issues across the counties of Pembrokeshire, Carmarthenshire and Ceredigion.
